Daniel Egger

In this episode of Biblioscapes in Discussion, I am joined by Daniel Egger to talk about his work and his zine Umbruch (Change).

"Change" is an exploration of the dramatic transformation of the forests in East Tyrol, driven by extreme weather events and their aftermath. The project documents the devastating storm damage caused by Vaia (2018), Ingmar (2019), and Virpy (2020), as well as the resulting bark beetle infestation, which further decimated the mountain forests of East Tyrol.

We also discussed a selection of Daniel’s favourite photobooks from his own bookshelf…

  • After the Snowstorm by Yoshinori Saito

  • Natürliche Nähe (Native Proximity) by Rupert Kogler

  • Discoveries of a Lifetime by Bruce Barnbaum

  • Hypnosis by Antonio Aleo

  • Terra Silva by Dorin Bofan

  • Berge by Peter Mathis

  • Black is the colour by Andreas Jorns

  • Blazing White by Ester VonPlon

You can see more of Daniel’s work on his website and find him on Instagram.
