Dale Sutherland-Roberts

In this episode of Biblioscapes In Discussion I am joined by Dale Sutherland-Roberts to discuss his work and his book The Walk.

The walk guided me along old disused railway lines and through a roman fort, the passing of civilisations etched into the landscape. I began to explore metaphorical connections between my daily walk and that of our species, our global migration, exploring connections between our situation and the photographs I was beginning to make.

Although initially disconcerting, I found the silence along with the ability to deeply explore my locality therapeutic, a re-connection.

As a civilisation we are at a turning point. I am hopeful that collectively we can the right decisions.

We also discussed a selection of Dale’s favourite books from his own bookshelf…

  • Solace… Paul Sanders

  • Luminis of Light… Andy Holliman

  • Epistle One… Guy Dickinson

  • The Last Stand… Marc Wilson

You can see more of Dale’s work on his website and find him on Instagram and Twitter.
