Hoge Venen
DESCRIPTION
The High Fens are one of the last great wildernesses in the Low Countries. It is also the highest area in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is almost 5 degrees colder, there is twice as much rain and on the highest plateaus there is snow about 70 days a year. Michel has photographed the landscape in this area for the past ten years.
This book 'Hoge Venen, wide and intimate landscapes' contains more than 100 of his best landscape photos taken here. He describes why he is so fascinated by the High Fens as a landscape photographer. He talks about his personal vision on landscape photography, his sources of inspiration and how he works. For inspiration, he also lists his favorite places and subjects per season.
The beautiful preface was written by Theo Bosboom, one of the great nature photographers of our time. Theo writes, among other things: And now there is a beautiful photo album! Its announcement came as no surprise. I have seen Michel grow enormously as a photographer in recent years. Since he decided to focus exclusively on landscapes, there is more feeling in his work, his images have become more expressive, everything seems to have fallen into place.
