October 14 2020. Yesterday came the terrible news that Chris Killip has died. One of the finest makers of the most honest photographs, always so helpful, supportive and very kind. He always ‘got’ Café Royal Books, and my reasons for publishing. Over the past few weeks he insisted on helping with this publication. This set was due for release a little later in the year but was brought forward so Chris would see it and receive his copies, and just because he wanted it to happen so much, with so much enthusiasm. Top bloke, and what an amazing legacy.
