Michael Beecham

In this episode of Biblioscapes In Discussion I am joined by Michael Beecham to discuss his recent publication The Dark Wood.

The ‘Dark Wood’ project was borne out of a love for brooding woodland, being shot over a period of 2 years, and only photographed during days of intense mist and fog. The hope was to try and capture the claustrophobic feeling found in this dense woodland of the ‘Western Estate’ in Wiltshire.

We also discussed a selection of Michael’s favourite photobooks from his own bookshelf…

  • Night Walk by Ken Sches

  • Light, Gesture and Colour by Jay Maisel

  • Return to Mexico by Abbas

  • Venice in Solitude by Christopher Thomas

  • Monotowns by Alexander Veryovkin

You can see more of Michael’s work on his website.
