Mark Cornick
In this episode of Biblioscapes in Discussion, I am joined by Mark Cornick to talk about his work and his book Ethereal.
Ethereal is the culmination of eight years of my exploration of abstraction, and in particular, the technique of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM).
I couldn’t have discovered ICM at a more appropriate time. It took me from a place of frustration, lack of focus (pardon the pun), and motivation with my photography, to where I stand today - feeling inspired and invigorated, and knowing that I have truly discovered my passion - making ethereal images of the Coast.
We also discussed a selection of Mark’s favourite photobooks from his own bookshelf…
Yakuza by Anton Kusters
Remembering in Paint by David Mankin
Sleepless in Soho by Joshua K. Jackson
Subway by Bruce Davidson
The Suffering of Light by Alex Webb
You can see more of Mark’s work on his website and find him on Instagram. You can pre-order his book here (correct as at 16-Oct-25).
