Eugene Schlumberger
In this episode of Biblioscapes in Discussion, I am joined by Eugene Schlumberger to talk about his work and his book A66.
A project in response to Paul Graham's 1983 book A1 - The Great North Road. Graham captured England via the north south spine of the A1 in the early 1980s. This project follows the route of the A66 which bisects England on an east-west axis. The images here follow the route of the A66 from just outside Redcar, at the eastern end of the road to Workington at the western end of the route.
We also discussed a selection of Eugene’’s favourite photobooks from his own bookshelf…
Forever by Saul Leiter
Blue Springs / Tonight Lounge by Lorena Lohr
An Attic Full of Trains by Carlotta di Lenardo
Modern Color by Fred Herzog
The Sly and Unseen Day by George Shaw
You can see more of Eugene’s work on his website and find him on Instagram.
