Woodwork
DESCRIPTION
Most people will not think of Buckinghamshire as a go to location for landscape photography, and the neighbouring Oxfordshire where I grew up is much the same. It’s true, I could jump in the car and drive two or three hours to the coast, or go even further and find some mountains. As much as I enjoy visiting these locations, I always have a feeling that I am just a visitor looking around someone else’s scene. Working locally I feel totally different. I have a connection, I can explore whenever I like, and in any weather. I have grown up with these locations and I know them well. The local parts that I do not know as well, I then have the time to explore at leisure.
I have this little saying about where I live. “We do not have a coastline or mountains, but we do have some magnificent woodland.” It is in this woodland where I spend most of my time. I find woodland so intriguing. I can visit the same location several days in a row and each time come back with something new. During certain times of year the growth or decline of the leaves and vegetation happens so fast. When I visit these locations regularly it is fascinating to see these changes happening.
