DESCRIPTION
Much less photographed than the beautiful scenes of the ring road, the interior is an uncompromising landscape of angular edges, harsh conditions and fleeting light.
It has proven to be at the heart of Bruce’s photography since 2013.
“I had always dreamed of visiting the interior upon my first visit to Iceland in 2004. I had never thought that I would get to be present amongst the vast black deserts of the interior, let alone come to the interior in the depths of winter. It is a place like no other, and it can be vast, uncompromisingly minimal and challenging. It is angular, raw and unashamedly untamed”.
This book is a night and day journey from the black toned deserts to the white canvas of a vast interior. In some ways, the book illustrates the extreme contrast from dark to light and then back to dark again.
