30 Minutes From Home
DESCRIPTION
n March 2020 social distancing measures brought about by the covid pandemic changed the way most of us live our lives. As we moved indoors the outside spaces we once occupied transformed. In my home town the disappearance of the daily throng of visitors brought with it a new landscape and a new energy. Without that human presence those same spaces now felt more intimate, more personal but they also felt hauntingly sombre. It was an atmosphere I wanted desperately to capture in photographs. However with government guidelines setting outside exercise to only one hour per day, opportunity was limited. I could carry just a camera with me and only shoot that which I could find within 30 minutes from home. The images in this zine are 13 of my favourite photographs captured in the first two months of lockdown.
