Richard Earney

In this episode of Biblioscapes in Discussion I am joined by Richard Earney to talk about his new book, The Prismatic Pond.

There’s a joy that can be experienced in a long-term project; the understanding of light, pattern and texture; the anticipation of change; the imperceptible (to others) differences you notice as you return time and time again; the chance encounters with wildlife, where they are wary of you but accept your presence. It builds and builds until you feel you know the place.

We also discussed a selection of Richard’s favourite book from his own bookshelf…

  • Passage… Guy Dickinson

  • New York in Colour… Ernst Hass

  • Voice of the Eyes… Rene Algesheimer

  • Glacier… Ragnar Axellson

  • Black Maps… David Maisel

You can see more of Richard’s work on his website and find him on Twitter and Instagram.
