James Osmond

In this episode of Biblioscapes In Discussion I am joined by James Osmond to discuss his work and his book Mud | Sand.

Inspired by a notation on an Ordnance Survey map, the Mud|Sand project explores the unusual and often maligned aesthetic of the Bristol Channel coastline. This is a landscape defined by miles of mudflats and saltmarsh, rich with patterns that are constantly remoulded by tidal forces, and wet surfaces that reflect whatever drama is being played out in the skies above.

We also discussed a selection of James’ favourite books from his own bookshelf…

  • First Light… Joe Cornish

  • Moment and Memory… Craig Potten

  • Travels in a Strange Land: Dark Spaces… Matt Botwood

  • Sea Fever… David Baker

You can see more of James’ work on his website and find him on Instagram and Twitter.
