Claire Brooks

In this episode of Biblioscapes in Discussion, I am joined by Claire Brooks to talk about her work and her book Evenlode The Sound of Waters.

The Sound of Waters is a collection that shows the beauty seen within the River Evenlode, reported as strangled, lifeless, and polluted (which it largely is); to me it has life and breath, rising and falling, flowing gently then fast as it travels from its unremarkable beginnings near Moreton-in-Marsh to the Thames, below Cassington, five miles north west of the centre of Oxford.

We also discussed a selection of Claire’s favourite books from her own collection…

  • Sirens… Rachael Talibart

  • Gathering Time… Simon Baxter

  • Healing… Colin Bell

  • Seaworks… Paul Kenny

  • Silence… Alex Wesche

  • Mystical… Neil Burnell

You can see more of Claire’s work on her website and find her on Instagram and Twitter.
